Foreigners allegedly lost in rumbling Bali's volcano

DENPASAR, kanalbali.com - A small group of foreigners were allegedly recklessness climbing Mount Agung on saturday early morning despite prohibition from the authority. Their fate hasn't been clear until saturday afternoon as they haven't been return. They were allegedly lost in the mountain.

Bali Disaster Mitigation Agency head, Made Rentin, said that the agency received a report from a local volunteer of Pasebaya Agung (a group of volunteers from villages in the slip of Mount Agung). "We try to trace them through two motorbike they left before the track," Rentin said.
Rentin said that the foreigners are allegedly start on saturday early morning. Volunteer of Pasebaya Agung I Nengah Kerta told the agency that they most likely start at around 3 a.m. local time.
"We saw around three light near the crater. My neighbour said that he saw them at around 3 a.m ," Nengah Kerta said.

Nengah Kerta said he saw their position closed to the crater. However, as the volcano has spewed ash several times, they were seen walking away from the crater. "From the movement of the light, we alleged that they confused and tried to return. Maybe they lost on the track," Kerta said.
The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) have repeatedly warned all people to stay away from the danger zone. No activity is allowed at the danger zone. Climbing Mt. Agung have been prohibited since its volcanic activity increased in 2017. People living along rivers at the foot of Mt. Agung have also been warned to remain vigilant for possible cold lava flows, which can occur during rain. (kanalbali/12)
