KARANGASEM, kanalbali.com - Mount Agung in Karangasem, Bali, erupted again on Thursday evening, March 28. The column of ash could not be seen from the volcano’s observatory. However, the ash was seen by people from other part of Karangasem.

“The column of ash could not be monitored. The rumbling can be heard from the observatory,” The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) reported.
The eruption was recorded at 6.25 p.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA). The eruption was happened for around two minutes and 32 seconds.
PVMBG declared that the volcano’s alert status maintained the at level three. The danger zone remain within a 4-kilometer radius from the crater. The center reminded people, including tourist, to stay away from the danger zone. Most Bali area are safe.
Earlier on March 17, Agung has erupted twice within a day. After the first eruption 8.03 a.m. , the volcano erupted again at 10.30 a.m. central indonesia time (WITA). Agung volcano's observatory on that day recorded the second eruption was followed by spewing of ash column up to 600 meters from the peak, higher than only 500 meters in the first eruption.

Meanwhile on March 15, Mount Agung has also erupted, spewing up to 1,000 meters column of ash. The volcanic activity of Mount Agung has increased since 2017.
Mount Agung is located in Karangasem Bali, more than 70 km from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International airport. (kanalbali/KR12)
