Prison guard gets Rp 3m for smuggling drugs

DENPASAR, kanalbali.com - Drugs ring inside Kerobokan prison apparently involving prison guard. Made Teguh, 27, was nabbed on Saturday (April 20) after he was trying to smuggle drugs into the prison.

Teguh was arrested by the officers of National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Bali chapter who has targeting him, following their recent investigation that found the alleged involvement of Teguh. The prison guard tried to smuggle at least 590 ecstacy into the prison. To fool other guards, the ecstacy was put inside some coffee sachets.
BNN Bali chief, Brig. Gen. I Putu Gede Suastawa said on Monday that Teguh was ordered by an inmate to bring the drugs. "He will be paid Rp 3 million for his work. He had only received Rp 500,000," Suastawa said, adding that Teguh should get the remaining Rp 2.5 million after he complete the mission.

Following the arrest, BNN had also arrested an inmate Surya Adi, who order Teguh to smuggle the drugs. Surya was the one who also paid Teguh.
"Surya Adi was the controller of Teguh. He told Teguh to bring the drugs into the prison," Suastawa said.
The drug ring apparently connected with someone in Madiun Prison in East Java, who become the controller of Surya Adi. Further investigation is still ongoing to find other people involve in the ring. (kanalbali/KR12)
