Murder on the Orient Express Review

Murder on the Orient Express was a movie based on the novel by Agatha Christie with the same title. One of the great movie that I have ever seen with the plot twist that made the audiences stunned in their chairs. Movie that opened with the little cased that must solvable by Hercule Poirot in Istanbul and Poirot knew the criminal with his smart style. Then, the story moved to Poirot that used the Orient express went back to London. The climax happen in the train that shocked him. Agatha Christie with her works always make the readers amaze with the case, especially with Hercule Poirot in a main character. I think that the movie bring it to the real to the readers. Above all the audiences that did not read the novel yet, include me that certainly feel can’t pent up the emotion when Poirot have a trouble with the murderer.

Murder on the Orient Express was a movie by Kenneth Branagh that also have a role to be Hercule Poirot in that movie. Movie that out in 10 November 2017 starring by Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Judi Denz, and others talented cast brought the movie have 8 from 10 stars on me, but the movie just got 6,6/10 in IMDb maybe the reason because in the cased of Amstrong family didn’t have detail Casseti’s motive why he kidnapped Daisy.

A film that presented by twentieth century fox film corporation never made the audiences disappointed to watch. The good cinematography with perfect shoot taken made this mystery movie look fabulous. The genre of crime mystery like usually Agatha Christie has written made this movie second to none with other works of her. It was supported by the great acting of the cast in every role. I think that the audiences can’t make a guess of the murderer until Poirot appeared with his calculation and Kenneth Branagh play his role with totality by his self in Hercule Poirot. The other cast that we must applause in act definitely Johnny Depp that get unexpected scene.

As a director, Kenneth Branagh didn’t have the mistakes in this movie. The great plot, good cinematography, talented cast, and the adaptation from the popular book by best mystery writer make the movie great as expect. Compare with the movie in 1974 maybe just about the different scene and plot. Murder on the Orient Express in 1974 that direct by John Brabourne and Richard Goodwin, the movie that made by EMI film distributors have a basic standard of the movie in that era and moving scene that suddenly happened in that movie didn’t appear in Murder on the Orient Express in 2017, I assure that.

The writing style in this movie so unpredictable, if we remember that the movie based on Agatha Christie works that indeed the fans always look blank in the end. The cast plays the character in a good way until the audiences feel that they in that a movie, even the cast speak some languages. Tell about editing, the movie was great as usual twentieth century fox movie has ever made. Set design of the train that make audiences impressed, I though. The scene in Istanbul, in a train station, until the condition of railroad made the movie seems real. The last, about the soundtrack. The backsound that fit with the scene. The music in the end that leave the imprint in the head of the audiences, increase the over plus of the movie.

The message that showed in that movie was the vengeance always bring the pain, no matter you were, wherever you were, until the victims felt that you got the same condition with them. They will hunt you, moreover you died. Then, the moral value was made a people had a score to settle with you will haunted you to the end.

Like I expected in my first words when watch this movie and finally, yas, the movie was great as I expected. The lovers of the detective things with the mystery story should watch this movie.
