Jumat (21/5), BTS resmi meluncurkan single terbaru bertajuk "Butter". Single ini merupakan comeback sekaligus lagu berbahasa Inggris kedua mereka setelah "Dynamite".

Mengutip situs Soompi, lagu yang mengusung konsep pop dansa ini tidak memiliki makna mendalam, namun merupakan lagu yang lucu tentang pernyataan cinta. Single ini diproduksi oleh leader BTS, RM, Rob Grimaldi, Stephen Kirk, dan Ron Perry.

Meski baru sehari dirilis, "Butter" berhasil meraih angka penayangan fantastis di YouTube. Per Sabtu (22/5) pukul 14:43, video musik "Butter" sudah meraup sekitar 126 juta penayangan.

Lagu ini juga berhasil menembus rekor baru di YouTube, di mana video musik "Butter" berhasil mencapai sekitar 10 juta penayangan usai 13 menit dirilis. Ini melampaui pencapaian video musik mereka yang sebelumnya, "Dynamite".

Tidak hanya YouTube, single ini juga sukses mendominasi tangga lagu iTunes. Mengutip Allkpop, "Butter" menempati peringkat pertama di tangga lagu iTunes di 101 negara. Versi instrumental lagu tersebut juga menempati jajaran tangga lagu teratas iTunes di total 84 negara.
