Adil Hassan, a scholarship awardee at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, the academic year 2019 to 2020. Adil originally from Sudan, pursuing his Masters of Government Affairs and Administration at UMY for durations of 2 years.

As a scholarship awardee at UMY, Adil said, “I am grateful to UMY for a great opportunity to further my education in their prestigious Univeristy.” His scholarship covers his tuition fees, accomodation and living cost in Indonesia. In additional to his statement is the quality of the education system here in UMY is very satisfying under his experiences, he said. One of the factors that he saw is the climate, for him, the climate in Jogja is medium, not very hot and not very cold which suitable in his life.
There is a lot of phenomena that impress him, one of these is the culture of Indonesia. “Peoples were very humble,” Adil said. All of his friends that he deals with or even his classmates they are very humble, they do not make him feel that I am a stranger and also the beauty of Indonesia. Indonesia for Adil is a very attractive and beautiful country. Besides, Adil mentioned that Malioboro – a main and legendary street in Yogyakarta -- is a very nice place for sightseeing in the night with its beauty of lights which impresses him a lot.

Besides, for him during this pandemic crisis is making people boring and create a lot of problems by having a positive side and also negative sides. On the negative side, the unplanned stoppage of facial learning and it’s on the academic calendar of each school affected terminal students. On the positive side, the advancement of technology and virtual learning has greatly improved.
Moreover, in his experience with his passed 1 year in Jogja is full of fun and skills followed by activities. Also, he said, that although some of the lecturers were taught their students in Indonesian Language and for his programs, lecturers used the English language as their medium of teaching. He stated that for those who wished to further their education or even looking for a place or scholarship, He will highly recommend UMY for their next destination of study abroad. However, it's fully funded, except the round trip ticket but UMY still the best and will be recommended.

“UMY Scholarship is a very unique not only about the scholarship but it is also about their community, society and the environment, this all factor that plays an important role in the city,” Adil said. Therefore, UMY had a great ambitions to grow their brand so that we are globally recognized for our excellent".
