Ahok officially joins PDIP
PerbesarDENPASAR, kanalbali.com - Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, former Jakarta governor who also known as Ahok, has officially joined the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). It was revealed when Ahok, who asked to be called as BTP after his release from jail, visited PDIP Bali chapter office in Denpasar, Friday (8/2). “He has officially been a member (of PIDP) since January 26,” said I Nyoman Adi Wiryatama, one of the party leader in Bali. Adi, also known as Bali legislative speaker, confirmed that Ahok already has PDIP membership card. During his visit to PDIP Bali chapter office, Ahok meet leaders of the party chapter in Bali. Those leaders meeting with Ahok including Bali Governor I Wayan Koster and his deputy Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati.
PerbesarAdi said that it was a normal thing for Ahok visit the party office. “This is a normal thing. He only came only to visit , as he is now member of PDIP,” he added. Ahok had also been offered to be a minister. However, he refused it, saying he only want to be a regular member. Ahok also give his book to Adi. “He share his experience after 600 days in his meditation place (jail). He is now feel the new life,” Adi said. After around 30 minutes meeting with PDIP leaders, Ahok come out from the meeting room wearing red jacket. He doesn’t speak much to journalist who have been waiting outside. “I only come to visit,” he said, adding that he was on holiday on the resort island. Ahok admitted that he has joined PDIP. “I just want to be a regular member,” he emphasized. (kanalbali/LSU)
