BADUNG, kanalbali.com - North Kuta Police has arrested a British man for allegedly assaulting an Australian man in Bali. Alasdair A Ross, 37, the British man is now facing a maximum 5 years imprisonment as carried in article 351 subsection 2 of criminal code on assault. “The victim suffered severe injured,” North Kuta Police investigator, First Insp. Androyuan Elim said. The incident was happened on Sunday, Feb 3, at around 11 pm at Red Carpet Champagne Bar in North Kuta, Bali. The victim, Nathan Mark Ryan, 43, came to the bar to have dinner with his friend Mark Dennis, 43. Both are Australian expat living in Bali with permanent stay permit.

When they have dinner, Ross who is holidaying in Bali, sit down in a chair behind Ryan. Ryan accidentally touch Ross's hand. “The suspect suddenly take glass on the table and use the glass to hit the victim twice causing open wound in the ear and face,” Androyuan said. The incident was reported by the victim’s friend, Mark Dennis, to North Kuta Police station. Based on the report, North Kuta Police conducted investigation and arrested the suspect from the crime scene. He was taken to North Kuta Police station for further investigation. “We have seized a broken glass that have been used by the suspect, as well as a CCTV footage that showed the incident,” Androyuan said.
