Life is easier in Indonesia, says French got Indonesian citizenship

DENPASAR, kanalbali.com - After ten years living in Bali, a French national Marc Gabriel Pierre Emile Frot decided to obtain Indonesian citizenship. The 60 years old man has officially got his Indonesian citizenship on Tuesday, March 26. He was inaugurated as Indonesian citizen by Bali's law and human right office head Sutrisno in a modest ceremony in Denpasar.

Frot said that he was happy to be an Indonesian. “The life is easier in Indonesia than france,” he told journalist about his reason to obtain Indonesian ciizenship.
With his family, Frot has been living in Bali for last 10 years. He married to French woman and have children.
“Indonesian people are nice and friendly,” he said, adding that most people in France were too serious on many things. “People always angry,” he said.
Frot also said that he loves the sun in Bali. “In France, we could not (rarely) find sun,” he said.
During in Bali. Frot also fell in love with Balinese cuisine. “I love Babi Guling (Balinese suckling pig), thats the first one. The second, Betutu chicken,” he said.

Sutrisno explained that Frot is the third foreigner that has been inaugurated as Indonesian citizen within this year. “I hope he could conduct his task and obligation as Indonesian citizen” Sutrisno said. (kanalbali/LSU)
