Video : Two foreigners arrested for smuggle drugs

DENPASAR, kanalbali.com - Bali airport custom have arrested two foreigners to allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs into Bali. A Tanzanian man ARA (42) and an American man HAB (60) have been arrested separately in two unrelated case. The two foreigners were paraded to the media at Ngurah Rai Custom and Excise office in Badung, Bali, Feb 12.

ARA was arrested upon his arrival at I Gusti Ngurah Rai airport on Qatar Airways QR 962 en route Doha-Denpasar in January, 30. To smuggle the drugs, ARA was swallowing a total of 99 capsule of methamphetamine, weighing total more than 1.1 kg. The methamphetamine were put inside condom, make it shape like big capsule. If found guilty, ARA could face a maximum death sentence.

Meanwhile HAB was arrested by a joint investigation team of custom officer and Bali Police’s Transnational and Organized Crime Task Force (CTOC). HAB had allegedly trying to smuggle 45.12 grams marijuana by mail package sent from Taiwan. If found guilty, HAB face a maximum 15 years imprisonment. (kanalbali/KR12)
