Remix ini enggak terdengar begitu berbeda. Jackson enggak melepaskan melodi orisinal dari California, sehingga vibe yang dihadirkan serupa.

Tapi dari segi lirik, Jackson menambahkan ceritanya sendiri yang lebih membahas tentang kehidupan asmara. Dia menambah energi di lagu California dengan rap yang bertenaga.

Proyek remix California ini menjadi yang terbaru antara Jackson dan 88rising. Sebelumnya dia juga terlibat di album kompilasi Head in the Clouds II pada 2019.

Ini juga bukan pertama kalinya Jackson berkolaborasi dengan musisi Indonesia. Di awal tahun ini dia dan Afgan melepas lagu M.I.A.
