Contoh report text singkat tentang alam banyak dicari sebagai referensi menyusun report text. Report text adalah salah satu materi Writing dalam Bahasa Inggris. Report text berisi fakta-fakta ilmiah mengenai suatu objek yang diamati penulis.

Report text umumnya disamakan dengan descriptive text tetapi kedua text ini berbeda. Kedua teks tersebut mendeskripsikan dan menginformasikan suatu objek tetapi report text menjabarkan obyek tersebut dengan lebih detail dan menyeluruh.

Menurut buku Menulis Report Text Melalui Metode Text Based Instructions oleh Sri Mulyani (2022: 22), report text adalah salah satu jenis teks dalam Bahasa Inggris yang berisi penjelasan tentang detail suatu objek.

Seperti yang sudah dijelaskan sebelumnya, informasi dalam report text merupakan hasil dari pengamatan, observasi, atau studi mengenai berbagai macam hal. Tujuan report text adalah untuk memberi informasi atau gambaran mengenai suatu objek apa adanya dan terperinci sesuai dengan hasil pengamatan penulis.

Seperti teks pada umumnya, report text juga memiliki struktur dalam penulisannya. Struktur report text adalah sebagai berikut:

1. General Classification

Struktur pertama report text berada di paragraf pertama dan berisi beragam informasi umum mengenai suatu objek berdasarkan hasil pengamatan penulis. Hasil pengamatan penulis dapat berupa fenomena alam, hewan, tumbuhan, dan topik lainnya.

2. Description

Struktur kedua report text berada di paragraf kedua dan berisi deskripsi yang lebih detail mengenai hasil pengamatan penulis yang ditulis dengan lebih terperinci.

What is A Tornado?

Tornadoes ara known as one of the most damaging natural disasters. Tornado can be described as very powerful column of wind which spirals around a center of a low atmospheric pressure. A Tornado will look like a large black funnel which hangs down from a storm cloud.

The name tornado dervis from the latin word 'tonare' that means 'to thunder'. While the Spanish developed the word into 'tornear' that means 'to turn or to twist'. This is why tornado is sometimes called twister or cyclone.

The winds inside a twister can spin around at speeds up to 500 miles an hour, but it usually travels at roughly 300 miles an hour. This speed twisting makes a tornado the most dangerous storm.

The average tornado has a diameter of about 200 to 300 yards. The smaller tornadoes are known as satellite tornadoes. These small offsprings, about 50 yards across, can be very fierce and caused lots of damage.

The formation of tornado can be very quick. Sometimes it can form in a minute or less. A tornado can travel across the ground at high speed, then it can suddenly vanish. Most tornadoes last less than twenty minutes and travel less than 15 miles. However, the super storms sometimes travel over 100 miles before they are exhausted.

Pelican

The white pelican is one of the most succesfull fish-eating birds. The success is due to its command hunting behaviour. A group, perhaps two dozen birds, will gather in a curved arc some distance offshore. The birds then begin to move forward towards the shore, beating the water furiously with their wings, driving the fish before them.

When the water is shallow enough for the birds to reach the fish, the formation breaks up as each birds dips its bill into water to scoop it meal. As the birds lifts its head, the water drains from its bill leaving the fish which are then swallowed.

pelicans are among the oldest group of birds. Fossils of this genus have been found dating back 40 millions years.
