Bahasa Inggris adalah satu dari sekian banyak bahasa asing yang dipelajari di Indonesia. Salah satu materi yang harus dipahami adalah passive voice. Pelajari contoh passive voice untuk memudahkan menyerap materi ini.

Apa itu passive voice? Dikutip dari Super Complete SMP/MTs 7,8,9, Khoerunnisa, dkk (2020:935), passive voice merupakan bentuk kalimat yang subjek kalimatnya menerima aksi, bukan melakukan aksi. Passive voice berfokus pada pihak yang menerima hasil dari suatu aksi (receiver of action).

Contoh:

• Active: My parents plant some flowers. (pelaku aksi)

• Passive: Some flowers are planted by my parents. (penerima aksi)

Berikut adalah beberapa rumus passive voice yang harus disesuaikan dengan tense pada kalimat.

• Simple present: am/is/are + pp. Contohnya is created.

• Present continuous: am/is/are being + pp. Contohnya is being created.

• Simple past: was/were + pp. Contohnya was created.

• Past continuous: was/were being + pp. Contohnya was being created.

• Present perfect: has/have been + pp. Contohnya has been created.

• Past perfect: had been + pp. Contohnya had been created.

• Simple future: will be + pp. Contohnya will be created.

• Future continuous: am/is/are going to be + pp. Contohnya is going to be created.

• Future perfect: will have been + pp. Contohnya will have been created.
