Apa itu Analytical Exposition Text?
Dikutip dari buku TOP ONE Ulangan Harian SMA/MA IPA Kelas XI (2020) oleh Tim Super Tentor, analytical exposition text adalah teks yang berusaha memberikan penjelasan menyeluruh tentang suatu masalah dengan menyajikan pendapat-pendapat pendukung secara cermat.
Tujuannya teks ini adalah meyakinkan pembaca bahwa suatu topik layak untuk diperhatikan. Caranya dengan menghadirkan argumen atau pendapat yang mendukung ide pokok.
Secara struktur, analytical exposition text terdiri dari tiga bagian utama, yaitu:
Thesis: Bagian pembuka yang memperkenalkan topik atau ide pokok dan selalu berada di paragraf pertama.
Series of argument: Rangkaian argumen atau pendapat para ahli yang mendukung thesis.
Conclusion atau reiteration: Bagian penutup yang menegaskan kembali ide pokok dari paragraf pertama.

Contoh 1: Career in Translation
Functionally, translation is transferring the message or the meaning of a text and not the words. According to Nida, such translation is called dynamic equivalence translation. It tries to bring the precise message in different language.
Many people like to watch Hollywood movie but most of them get troubled understanding the actors' dialogue. So the way they get the understanding about the movie is by reading the running translation text. If Hindi translation is provided, it will bring a better understanding for Indian moviegoer.
Hollywood movie spread over other Asia countries. Therefore, Arabic translation, Indonesian translation, and Farsi translation are widely needed and that is a big chance for English master in that countries.
India is likely being an English speaking country. India translation will grow better and it seems Indonesia, Malaysia, and Filipina will also reach that mark soon. Translation job will be great in amount and that is good development for translating job seekers.
Contoh 2: Is Smoking Good for Us?
Before we are going to smoke, it is better to look at the facts. About 50 thousands people die every year in the UK as a direct result of smoking. This is seven times more than by traffic accidents. Nearly a quarter of smokers die because of diseases caused by smoking.
Ninety percent of lung cancers are caused by smoking. If we smoke five cigarettes a day, we are six times more likely to die of lung cancer than a nonsmoker. If we smoke twenty cigarettes a day, the risk is nineteen times greater.
Ninety five percent of people who suffer of bronchitis are people who are smoking. Smokers are two and half times more likely to die of heart disease than non smokers.
Additionally, children of smoker are more likely to develop bronchitis and pneumonia. One hour in the smoky room, nonsmoker breathes as much substance causing cancer as if he had smoked fifteen cigarettes.
Smoking is really good for tobacco companies because they make much money from smoking habit. Smoking, however, is not good for both the smokers and nonsmokers' health.
