Thich Nhat Hanh, a monk and peace activist from Vietnam, once said, "We have more possibilities available in each moment than we realize." As a student, I often get caught up in daily routines or worries about the future, causing many precious moments to pass by unnoticed. While technological advancements have sped up communication, they often reduce the quality of human interactions, leading to isolation and a lack of emotional connection. Dependence on technology can cause stress, anxiety, and dissatisfaction.

Soul therapy is an effort to heal and nurture one's spiritual, emotional, and psychological aspects. It can be practiced through various means, including meditation, art, music, and reading. Books have therapeutic potential, transporting readers to different worlds and allowing a temporary escape from reality. My first experience attending Solo Book Party, a literacy community in Surakarta City open to all, provided a new perspective on the importance of soul therapy through literature.
The essence of Solo Book Party is not just about how many books are read or how well we understand their contents. Participants discuss characters and narratives that resonate with their personal experiences, fostering mutual understanding and empathy. These discussions provide an opportunity to release pent-up emotions, a crucial goal of soul therapy. The emotional connections formed can be very cathartic, creating an environment where healing and self-discovery thrive. Additionally, participants engage in discussions that challenge their perspectives, introducing new ideas and enriching conversations with each member's unique interpretations, an essential component of soul therapy.
In conclusion, I hope everyone realizes the importance of appreciating each moment and using those moments as part of soul therapy. The potential for growth and self-understanding lies in the small moments we often overlook. By opening ourselves to new experiences, whether through quality social interactions or activities like reading and discussing, we can discover many hidden possibilities. Soul therapy does not have to be done in solitude; collective activities like Solo Book Party can be an effective means of nurturing the soul and finding inner peace.
