An Indonesian woman applied to join a running club in Bali and was rejected within minutes. Her British husband applied five minutes later, from the same house and the same phone. He was accepted at 3 AM. That screenshot turned into a national argument. But one club is not a country, so we flew to Bali to test it ourselves. What we found was not the wall we came looking for. It was something quieter, and harder to write a rule against. This report is published in English on purpose, so it can be read by the people it is about.
